Vuosijuhlaetiketti

Vuosijuhlat on arvokas juhlatilaisuus, johon liittyy erilaisia etikettisääntöjä. Niitä noudattamalla kunnioitetaan juhlan luonnetta sekä sujuvoitetaan juhlan kulkua. Arvokkuus ei kuitenkaan tarkoita muodollisuutta ja jäykkyyttä, vaan tärkeintä on hauskanpito.

Pukukoodi

Pukeutumiseen liittyy monia etikettisääntöjä, joihin on kuitenkin hyvä suhtautua ennemminkin ohjeistuksina. Pukuihin sallitaan persoonalliset muutokset, kunhan ne kunnioittavat juhlan luonnetta.

Vuosijuhlissa pukeutuminen määräytyy pukukoodin ”frakki tai tumma puku” myötä. Vuosijuhliin voi täten pukeutua frakkiin, tummaan pukuun, juhlavaan iltapukuun, täysimittaiseen juhlapukuun tai kansallispukuun. Esimerkiksi smokki, saketti, cocktail-puku tai muu lyhythelmainen puku eivät ole etiketin mukaisia pukuvaihtoehtoja akateemisiin iltajuhliin. Huomaathan, että noudatamme cocktailissa tilaisuuden nimestä huolimatta samaa pukukoodia kuin pääjuhlassa – sinun ei siis tarvitse vaihtaa asua niiden välissä.

Mikäli tarvitset ajannäyttäjää, on frakin kanssa suositeltavaa käyttää taskunaurista rannekellon sijaan. Huomaathan myös, että tummalla puvulla tarkoitetaan iltajuhlissa mustaa, tummanharmaata tai tummansinistä pukua. Puvun kanssa saa käyttää etiketin mukaisesti valkoista paitaa, mustia sukkia ja harmaata kravattia. Iltapuvun ja täysimittaisen juhlapuvun pituus on etiketin mukaisesti nilkat peittävä. Juhlallisia koruja voi käyttää ja samoin siroa olkaimetonta laukkua. Jos hiuksesi ovat niin pitkät, että ne ylettyvät kiinni, ne tulee laittaa kiinni. Kenkien on syytä olla juhlavat, esimerkiksi mustat nauhakengät, laakerikengät, avokkaat tai juhlasandaalit toimivat hyvin.

Mahdollisia kunniamerkkejä voi myös käyttää. Juhlanauhaa käytetään joko poikittain tai kiinni juhlapuvussa. Juhlanauha ei saa koskettaa ihoa. Juhlanauhasta ja sen taittelusta voit lukea omalta sivultaan.

Käyttäytyminen

Cocktailtilaisuus on yhdistyksen 50-vuotisjuhlilla kaikille osallistujille tarkoitettu. Cocktailin ohjelmassa on yhdistykselle suunnattujen lahjojen luovutus, jossa yhteistyökumppanit ja kutsutut järjestöt tervehtivät yhdistystä. Ennalta pyydettyjen puheenvuorojen jälkeen juhlassa on vielä mahdollisuus spontaaniin tervehdykseen tai puheenvuoron pitämiseen. Viettäessämme cocktailia anniskelualueella, on hyvä kunnioittaa yhdistyksen ja sen kumppaneiden välisiä sopimuksia noudattamalla anniskelulakia. Emme siis lahjanluovutuksessa avaa lahjapulloja, vaan jätämme ne avaamattomina silliskansan nautittaviksi.

Vuosijuhlille saavutaan hyvissä ajoin. Myöhästyminen sallitaan vain pakottavista syistä, ja tällöin on kohteliasta siirtyä huomaamattomasti omalle paikalleen esimerkiksi laulun tai puheenvuoron päättyessä. Istumapaikat on jaettu etukäteen, oma istumapaikkasi selviää istumapaikkakartasta. Löydettyäsi paikkasi käy sen taakse seisomaan. Istuthan siis vasta, kun illan juontajat siihen kehottavat.

Vuosijuhlilla on kohteliasta esittäytyä omalle pöytäseurueelleen, jos kaikki eivät tunne toisiaan entuudestaan. Ruokapöydästä noustaan vain taukojen aikana tai pakottavasta syystä – ei siis kesken ohjelmanumeroiden tai syömisen. Ohjelmanumeroiden, puheiden ja laulujen aikana on kunnioittavaa olla syömättä tai puhumatta. Ruokailun ajaksi rauhoitamme tilannetta seurustelulle ja ruuasta nauttimiselle erillisellä ruokarauhalla, jonka aikana laulut ovat tauolla. Mikäli sinulla on mukana laukku, ethän pidä sitä pöydällä muuten kuin tanssiessasi. Pidäthän myös puhelimesi hiljaisella ja harkitse sen käyttöä.

Ruoat tarjoillaan vuosijuhlilla pöytiin, ja lämpimän ruoan voi aloittaa, kun avecisi ja vieressäsi istuvat ovat saaneet annoksensa. Maljoja vuosijuhlilla kohotetaan samaan tapaan kuin sitseillä – tamperelaisen modernin skoolaustavan mukaisesti lasia kohotetaan ensin vastapäätä istuvasta henkilöstä viistoon oikealla puolella istuvalle, sitten viistoon vasemmalle ja skoolaus päätetään vastapäätä istuvan henkilön kanssa. Huomaathan, että vuosijuhlilla juomat kuuluu nauttia pöydässä – niiden kanssa ei ole siis sopivaa seilata ympäriinsä.

Erona tavallisiin sitseihin vuosijuhlilla ei ole soveliasta hakata pöytää, vaan suosiota osoitetaan taputtamalla. Vuosijuhlilla nopea humaltuminen ei ole juhlan arvolle sopivaa. Toivomme siis, että juhlapöydille ei kasaannu suuria määriä pulloja tai tölkkejä.

Juhlaa ovat mahdollistamassa kymmenet vapaaehtoiset toimikunnasta nakkilaisiin. Onkin heidän työnsä kunnioittamista käyttäytyä siististi ja noudattaa heidän antamia ohjeita juhlan sujuvuuden takaamiseksi. Mikäli jotain tapahtuu tai hajoaa, on siitä hyvä kertoa mahdollisimman pian nakkilaisille.

Vuosijuhlilla noudatamme TREYn turvallisemman tilan periaatteita.

Laulut

Yhteislaulut ovat osa akateemisia vuosijuhlia. Laulut löytyvät pöydissä olevista käsiohjelmista, eli omaa laulukirjaa ei vuosijuhlilla välttämättä tarvita. Käsiohjelmaan on koottu runsaasti erilaisia juhlan arvoon soveltuvia kappaleita. Vuosijuhlilla emme laula lisäsäkeistöjä kappaleisiin. Kuka vain voi ehdottaa laulua, mutta erona sitsikulttuuriin tulee ottaa huomioon se, että lauluja ei toivota omalta paikalta kesken konferenssin. Sen sijaan niitä voi toimittaa kirjallisesti juhlan laulunjohtajalle. Laulunjohtaja voi toiveen pohjalta määrittää, montako säkeistöä kappaleesta lauletaan.

Yhtenä ohjelmanumerona vuosijuhlillamme on puhe rakkaudelle, jonka jälkeen lauletaan Romanssi-kappale.

Silliaamiainen eli sillis

Silliksellä tarkoitetaan vuosijuhlien jälkeisen päivän olotilaan sopivaa ruokailua, edellisen illan muistelua ja rentoa ajanviettoa. Silliksemme on bilesillis salaisessa kohteessa, jossa tarjoutuu oiva mahdollisuus jatkaa juhlimista seuraavaan päivään. Sillikselle voit siis kiskoa haalarit jalkaan ja toivottaa juhlatunnelman uuteen nousuun.

Vujunauhan taitteluohje (tekstimuotoisena)

Ota noin puoli metriä juhlanauhaa.
Taita nauha toisesta päästä noin 5cm.
Taita nauha vastakkaisesta päästä niin, että se ulottuu hieman alkuperäisen taitoksen ulkopuolelle.
Tee nauhan toiseen päähän samanlainen, hieman alkuperäisen taitoksen ulkopuolelle jatkuva taitos.
Vie nauha lopuksi ruusukkeen keskelle ja taita nauha niin, että se on ruusukkeeseen nähden poikittain.
Sido nauha ruusukkeen ympäri.
Ompele nauha takaa kiinni niin ettei se purkaudu eikä sauma näy päällepäin.

Anniversary Celebration Etiquette

The anniversary celebration is a prestigious event that comes with various etiquette rules. By following them, we honor the dignity of the event and ensure its smooth progression. Prestige, however, does not mean rigidity and stiffness—having fun is the most important part.

Dress Code

There are many etiquette rules related to attire, but they should be seen more as guidelines. Personal touches to outfits are allowed, as long as they respect the spirit of the celebration.

The dress code for the anniversary celebration is “white tie or dark suit.” This means you may wear a white tie ensemble, a dark suit, a formal evening gown, a full-length gala dress, or a national costume. For example, a tuxedo, morning coat, cocktail dress, or short-hemmed dresses are not appropriate attire for academic evening events. Please note that despite the name, the cocktail event follows the same dress code as the main celebration—there’s no need to change outfits between the two.

If you need a timepiece, it is recommended to wear a pocket watch with a white tie instead of a wristwatch. Also note that a “dark suit” in evening events refers to black, dark grey, or dark blue. With the suit, etiquette allows a white shirt, black socks, and a grey tie. Evening gowns and full-length gala dresses should cover the ankles. Formal jewelry and a small strapless clutch are appropriate. If your hair is long enough to be tied up, it should be worn up. Shoes should be formal—black lace-ups, loafers, pumps, or dressy sandals are all suitable.

Academic recognition may also be worn. The academic gala ribbon is worn either diagonally or attached to the dress. It should never touch bare skin while worn. You can read more about the ribbon and how to fold it on its dedicated page.

Conduct

The cocktail event at the association’s 50th anniversary is intended for all attendees. The program includes the presentation of gifts to the association, where partners and invited organizations greet the association. After the scheduled speeches, there is an opportunity for spontaneous greetings or speeches. While enjoying the cocktail in the alcohol licensed area, it’s important to respect the agreements between the association and its partners by following alcohol legislation. Therefore, gift bottles can not be opened during the cocktail event and they will be left unopened for the “sillis” crowd to enjoy.

Arrive at the anniversary celebration well in advance. Being late is only acceptable for compelling reasons, and in such cases, it is polite to quietly take your seat after a song or speech ends. Seating is pre-assigned, and your seat can be found on the seating chart. Once you find your seat, stand behind it. Please sit only when prompted by the evening’s hosts.

It is courteous to introduce yourself to your table companions if you don’t already know each other. You should only leave the dining table during breaks or for urgent reasons—not during program segments or meals. During performances, speeches, and songs, it is respectful not to eat or talk. During meals, we observe a “dining peace,” allowing time for conversation and enjoyment of the food, with singing paused. If you have a bag with you, please don’t place it on the table unless you’re dancing. Keep your phone on silent and use it considerately.

Food is served at the table, and you may begin eating the hot dish once your companion and those seated next to you have received theirs. Toasts are made similarly to student parties—following the Tampere modern toasting style: raise your glass first to the person on your diagonal right, then to the diagonal left, and finally to the person straight across the table. Note that drinks should be enjoyed at the table—it is not appropriate to wander around with them.

Unlike regular student parties, it is not appropriate to tap on the table at the anniversary celebration. Applause is used to show appreciation. Rapid intoxication is not in line with the dignity of the event. We hope that tables do not accumulate large numbers of bottles or cans.

Dozens of volunteers—from the organizing committee to nakki helpers—make the celebration possible. Respecting their work means behaving appropriately and following their instructions to ensure the event runs smoothly. If something happens or breaks, please inform a nakki as soon as possible.

Songs

Group singing is part of academic anniversary celebrations. Songs can be found in the programs placed on the tables, so a personal songbook is not necessarily needed. The program includes a wide selection of songs suitable for the occasion. We do not sing extra verses at the anniversary celebration. Anyone may suggest a song, but unlike in sitz parties, songs should not be requested from your seat during the formal program. Instead, you may submit written requests to the song leader. Based on the request, the song leader may decide how many verses will be sung.

One of the program segments at our anniversary celebration is a speech to love, followed by the song Romanssi.

Silliaamiainen (Sillis)

“Sillis” refers to the relaxed meal and time spent together the day after the anniversary celebration, suitable for the mood of the morning after. Our “party sillis” takes place at a secret location, offering a great opportunity to continue the festivities into the next day. For sillis, you can throw on your overalls and reignite the party spirit.

Iltakoulu ry Academic Ribbon Instructions

Section 7

Iltakoulu ry has a celebration ribbon that is worn in academic ceremonies and when representing the association, similar to a student union ribbon. The ribbon is 30 mm wide and symmetrical along its centerline. Its base color is black, with a 5 mm wide stripe of golden metallic thread located 5 mm from each edge.

Section 8

Every member of Iltakoulu ry has the right to acquire the celebration ribbon. The right to wear the ribbon remains even after leaving the association.

Section 9

Current and former board members of Iltakoulu ry have the right to wear a 45 mm wide version of the celebration ribbon. This ribbon is otherwise identical to the 30 mm version. Its base color is black, with a 7.5 mm wide stripe of golden metallic thread located 7.5 mm from each edge.

Section 10

Members of Iltakoulu wear the celebration ribbon in academic events diagonally from the right shoulder across the chest to the left side. The ribbon may also be worn as a rosette on the left chest. The ribbon must not touch bare skin.

Section 11

When wearing the celebration ribbon, the rest of the attire must be appropriate to the occasion and the dignity of the ribbon.

Section 12

The association’s celebration ribbon may be worn alongside another celebration ribbon. At association events, if two ribbons are worn, the association’s ribbon should be placed higher. Board members currently in office do not wear any other ribbons besides the association’s own.

Instructions for Making a Rosette

Take approximately half a meter of the academic ribbon.
Fold about 5 cm from one end of the ribbon.
Fold the opposite end so that it slightly overlaps the first fold.
Make a similar fold on the other end, again slightly overlapping the original fold.
Bring the ribbon to the center of the rosette and fold it so that it lies horizontally across the rosette.
Tie the ribbon around the rosette.
Sew the ribbon from the back to secure it, making sure the seam is not visible from the front.
Congratulations, your rosette is ready!
If your outfit requires it, you can also fold the rosette in a three-layer style.
